Anonymize a CSV export in your browser

Anonymize any document before it reaches an AI. Nothing leaves your device. Each cell is a text unit: values are replaced consistently across rows while delimiters, quoting and headers stay intact.

What stays intact

What we preserve in CSV files

The file is edited in place: only the detected text changes. Everything else is written back byte for byte where possible.

  • Cells as units

Each cell is scanned on its own, so a name in column B gets the same label in every row.

  • Delimiter and quoting

Comma, semicolon and tab delimiters are detected. Quotes and escaped quotes are written back as they were.

  • Header row

Column names are scanned like other cells; turn categories off if a header must stay literal.

  • Numbers and dates

Numeric cells are left alone unless they match a checked pattern such as an IBAN, card number or national ID.

  • Row order and count

No rows are added, dropped or reordered.

What gets detected

Names, numbers and identifiers: three layers

Patterns with checksums (IBAN, national IDs, card numbers, emails, phones, URLs, IPs, dates, plates), your own dictionary of names and terms, and an optional model that runs in your browser for person, company and place names.

Questions

CSV questions, answered

Will columns and delimiters stay the same?

Yes. The delimiter is detected and reused, quoting is preserved, and no columns are added or removed.

Does the same customer get the same label in every row?

Yes. Replacement is consistent per value, so joins and group-bys still work on the anonymized file.

Can I anonymize only some columns?

Not by column yet. You can turn categories on and off and remove individual entities in the review step before applying.

What about IBANs, card and ID numbers in cells?

They are validated with checksums and replaced with labels or realistic fake values, depending on the strategy you choose.

How large can the CSV be?

Up to 50 MB per file. Very wide files with hundreds of thousands of cells take longer to review.

Is the export uploaded?

No. Parsing and replacement happen in your browser; 0 network requests during processing.
