Unformation is an individual, non-commercial project by Göktuğ Yurt. It has no company, no investors and no plan to collect your data.
Who
I am Göktuğ Yurt, a software developer based in Türkiye. I build and maintain Unformation on my own time. There is no team behind it, which is why the security page and this site are as explicit as they are: you should be able to judge the tool by what it does, not by who made it.
Why
People paste contracts, CVs, medical reports, customer lists and legal documents into AI assistants every day, because the assistants are genuinely useful. Most of those documents contain names, IDs, phone numbers or account details that have no business being in a prompt.
Existing anonymizers mostly run on a server: you upload the sensitive document to one company so that another company will not see it. That recreates the exact problem it claims to solve. The only design that removes the problem is one where the document never leaves the device, and browsers are now capable enough to do the work.
Principles
Device-only
There is no upload endpoint and never will be. If a feature cannot be built without sending your data somewhere, it is not built.
Verifiable
Every claim on this site can be checked in your own browser: Network tab, Wi‑Fi off, storage inspector. We list every third-party request and every stored item.
Honest about limits
Detection is not perfect, scanned PDFs are not supported, and layouts are not reproduced from PDFs. Those limits are written down where you will see them.
Free
No account, no paywall, no premium tier for privacy. Hosting a static site costs little; the model files are served by the Hugging Face Hub.
